Dear Therapists: A Note about the Therapist Learning Community

Since I quietly dropped the idea that I was going to start a learning community for therapists (and possibly coaches) on my blog, many of you have been emailing me to be notified of when it might happen and how you can join.

Well, the good news is that I’ve gotten approval from Sinai to create the community, but now I’m designing it and making a business plan to make sure it’s financially viable, since there are legitimate expenses that go into creating and maintaining such a community. It’s tricky to balance keeping the community affordable and viable for the long haul, knowing that many of you are also still students and early career professionals. I’ve also gotten some interest from donors who want to support the endeavor and create scholarships for those who may need it.

With the broad changes in federal policy that have happened recently, the work I’ve been doing to spread trauma-informed, relationally based practices to communities that cannot afford good care has pretty much come to an end. I’m hoping that this community will be one way that I can keep that work going, while still raising a family in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

With all that being said, stay tuned! I’ll make the announcement here on my blog.

Launch date: 3 to 6 months?
